Tipmont to sponsor 6th grade students for free Touchstone Energy Camp

Energize your summer! Touchstone Energy camp provides a fun, powerful and unique camp experience for Indiana 6th grade students. Students can start their summer vacation learning about electricity, participating in camp activities, playing games and making friends.

Tipmont REMC will sponsor 20 local students to attend the free Touchstone Energy Camp. The camp will be held June 6-9, 2012, at the Camp Tecumseh YMCA Outdoor Center in Brookston, IN. Sixth grade boys and girls are eligible to attend and will be selected by Tipmont to participate in the three-day, all-expenses paid program.

The students’ agenda will include electricity education, horseback riding, bucket truck rides, rock wall climbing, archery, canoeing, swimming, a Live Line Safety demonstration and more.

“This is a great way for students to learn about the role of electric cooperatives in their community. On top of that, they get to experience all the fun of camp,” said Jim Clark, Energy Advisor at Tipmont.
